TUGUEGARAO CITY — The provincial government of Cagayan (PGC) has announced that the more than P19.7-million service road with retaining wall project at the Cagayan Animal Breeding and Eco-tourism Center in Ballesteros town has been completed.
Located in Barangay Zitanga in Ballesteros, the project, which was inaugurated on Wednesday, has a length of 1.5 kilometers with a total cost of P19,799,402 taken from the 2023 PGC development fund.
Engr. Kingston Dela Cruz, PGC provincial engineer, said the service road will "facilitate going to different facilities within the breeding center."

In addition to this project, Dela Cruz said that there will be more infrastructure projects ready to be built in the area for the benefit of the people of Cagayan.

He said the breeding center is very blessed because it has a new administration building, dorm and multi-purpose building.
"Another building that will be built here is a bahay pag-asa (house of hope) for out-of-school youth to learn how to breed and take care of animals as a means of livelihood. There will also be a rest area here," Dela Cruz said.
Meanwhile, Cagayan Gov. Manuel Mamba noted that all the projects and changes made at the Cagayan Breeding Center are focused on "helping and improving the livelihood of the Cagayano people and the next generation."
"These are some of what we have done, especially for the next generation, and I hope you will take care, appreciate and help so that we can further improve the breeding center for every Cagayano to benefit from. Let's reach the pinnacle of success for Cagayan. Let's join the development of Cagayan for Cagayanos," Mamba said.
Dela Cruz said the Cagayan Animal Breeding and Eco-tourism Center in Zitanga village is one of the facilities the PGC has been focusing on and developed under the leadership of the governor.
Dr. Noli Buen, PGC provincial veterinarian, also thanked the governor for building various projects at the breeding center.
"We hope that the people will take care of the breeding center to benefit more farmers in the province," Buen said.
