TAYABAS CITY, Quezon, Philippines —One person died while five others were injured after a trailer truck collided with a car and a pick-up along the highway in Barangay Camaysa here on Saturday.
Police said the trailer truck was carrying a backhoe when its brakes malfunctioned along a downhill slope, hitting the two vehicles.
Rescuers rushed the vehicle drivers to a nearby hospital, where one was declared dead on arrival. Five passengers who sustained injuries are receiving medical treatment in the same facility.
