MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) distributed P8.3 million in assistance to 165 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) experiencing crisis or distress situations.
The assistance was released on Sept. 8 in Mandaluyong under the DMW’s Aksyon Fund, which supports OFWs and their families facing emergency, crisis or distress situations.
Falconi Ace Millar, DMW-National Capital Region director, said the fund forms part of the government’s efforts under the Uplift initiative to assist OFWs and their families during crises.
OFWs seeking assistance through the Aksyon Fund may inquire at the DMW Central Office, regional offices or Migrant Workers Offices abroad.
