In the latest PhilHealth data, there are 2,026 GAMOT facilities in the country that can assist members in availing P20,000 worth of medicines yearly.

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) announced that over 2,000 Guaranteed and Accessible Medications for Outpatient Treatment package providers nationwide are ready to give GAMOT members of 75 essential free medicines.

In the latest PhilHealth data, there are 2,026 GAMOT facilities in the country that can assist members in availing P20,000 worth of medicines yearly.

Of the number, 397 are government and 1,629 are private establishments serving as GAMOT providers.

The National Capital Region topped the area with the most number of GAMOT facilities at 256, followed by Central Luzon with 205 and Calabarzon, 199.

Mimaropa and Zamboanga Peninsula have 152 facilities each, followed by Central Visayas with 126.

PhilHealth said Filipinos should first register in their chosen Yaman ng Kalusugan Program or YAKAP clinic to avail of P20,000 worth of free medicines per member per year.

The free medications include those for treatment of infections (anti-microbial), asthma and COPD or chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder, diabetes, high cholesterol (dyslipidemia), high blood pressure and heart conditions (cardiology), and nervous system disorders, along with other supportive therapies.
