MANILA, Philippines — Two Indian nationals were arrested by police following a robbery in Las Piñas City on Friday.

Authorities apprehended the suspects after receiving a report about a holdup at a subdivision in Barangay Elias Aldana.

Probers said the suspects, aged 27 and 33, robbed a fellow Indian national of a cell phone worth P73,000 and P10,000 in cash in front of the victim’s house.

Police tracked the suspects through the GPS feature of the mobile phone, leading to their arrest.

Recovered from the suspects were the stolen cell phone, a motorcycle, helmets and a red jacket allegedly used in the crime.

Acting Philippine National Police chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said criminal acts would not be “tolerated regardless of nationality,” stressing that strict law enforcement is meant to ensure public safety.

The suspects were identified by the victim and were brought to the Las Piñas police station for inquest proceedings.
