MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives is set to move two key Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council priority measures for final approval when session resumes today.

House Majority Leader Sandro Marcos said the two measures are the National Land Use Act and the amendments to the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) Act, both identified as among the most advanced bills still in the pipeline.

“These are not theoretical proposals anymore. These are measures that have already moved through key stages, and what they need now is sustained floor work so we can bring them across the finish line before adjournment,” he said.

Marcos said both bills carry significant implications, with the National Land Use Act aimed at providing a long-delayed framework for land use planning, while the 4Ps amendments seek to strengthen and expand the government’s flagship social protection program.

At the same time, he also called on his House colleagues to fast-track the approval of the proposed Kalinga Act, saying it will provide relief for poor Filipinos, the middle class and small business owners amid rising costs brought about by the Israel-US war against Iran.

The Kalinga Act is a measure designed to guarantee fast, targeted, and automatic government response when fuel price shocks begin driving up the cost of living.
