COTABATO CITY, Philippines – Two more bomb experts of terrorist group Dawlah Islamiyah have been arrested in Mamasapano, Maguindanao del Sur.
Saidamen Amilil and Razid Hazim were collared on Tuesday in Barangay Tukanalipao by a team of soldiers and police officers led by Maguindanao del Sur police director Col. Michael John Mangahis.
Amilil and Hazim are reportedly followers of Muslimin Amilil, who was arrested earlier in the day in the same barangay.
Muslimin has been implicated in the massacre of 44 police Special Action Force commandos in an encounter in Mamasapano in 2015.
He was reportedly trained by Malaysian bomb expert, Zulkifli bin Hir, alias Marwan, who was killed in the Mamasapano clash.
Police said Amilil and Hazim yielded a .45-caliber pistol, grenade and schematic diagrams for improvised explosive devices.
They are detained at the Mamasapano police jail facility, where Muslimin is also being held.
