MANILA, Philippines — Over eight kilos of shabu valued at P56.6 million were seized from two women who were arrested at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 on Wednesday.
Police said the suspects, who arrived from Phnom Penh in Cambodia, were at the airport’s lobby when they were nabbed by authorities.
Philippine National Police chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said Customs personnel noticed suspicious items in the suspects’ luggage.
During inspection, authorities found around 8.32 kilos of methamphetamine hydrochloride concealed in improvised carbon paper pouches.
