CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna , Philippines — A military sergeant was shot dead by three members of the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU) inside a detachment in Barangay Puray in Rodriguez, Rizal late Tuesday.
Col. Feloteo Gonzaldo, Rizal police director, identified the slain officer only as Sgt. Mark, the deputy officer of the 80th Infantry Battalion patrol base in Sitio Macaingalan.
Gonzaldo said one of the three suspects was charged for murder while the other two were charged for illegal discharge of firearms.
Lt. Col. Arwyn Gaffud, town police chief, said the suspects were being reprimanded by the soldier when the incident happened.
