Six informants receive cash rewards at the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency headquarters in Quezon City yesterday.
Miguel De Guzman
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency gave over P7.4 million in cash incentives to 31 civilian informants for their role in the war on drugs, PDEA officials said yesterday.
The cash reward was distributed under the PDEA’s “Operation: Private Eye” program, an intelligence-driven initiative that encourages public participation in the fight against illegal drugs.
Six informants received their rewards at the PDEA central office in Quezon City.
Isagani Nerez, PDEA director general, said the informants’ tips led to the conduct of 33 anti-narcotics operations.
The top informant received P1.83 million for information that resulted in the seizure of 25 kilos of shabu in Quezon province in 2025.
Nerez said the cash releases underwent evaluation by a committee composed of PDEA officials and representatives from the private and religious sectors to ensure transparency.
