MANILA, Philippines —  Up to 493,000 poor families may qualify as new beneficiaries of the government’s Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or 4Ps following a validation and verification process this month, according to the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

The DSWD said the expansion of the 4Ps is in line with a directive of President Marcos to ensure that all poor Filipino families receive appropriate government interventions.

The agency said it would start the validation process as soon as it receives the list of families classified as poor and near-poor from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

The list of potential 4Ps household-beneficiaries was generated from the results of the 2026 community-based monitoring system, which was set by the PSA nationwide.

“This is good news for all qualified families who need assistance for the health and education of their children as well as in their daily expenses. We are grateful to the PSA for identifying these poor and near-poor families through the community-based monitoring system,” DSWD spokesperson Irene Dumlao said in a statement.

Dumlao said that many householdbeneficiaries have graduated from the 4Ps and the DSWD needs to identify new beneficiaries through the help of the community-based monitoring system.

Qualified households will undergo a thorough validation and verification process before they can be registered into the program.
