Summiting Mt. Apo, the Philippines' highest mountain at nearly 3,000 meters above sea level, is a wild goal for just about anyone.

So let's give a huge round of applause to 70-year-old Letecia Sobebe of Miami's Occidental for checking Mt. Apo off her list.

The senior citizen went viral Monday not only for her tremendous feat, but for doing so in style. At Mt. Apo's peak, Sobebe changed from her hiking gear into a bright pink Filipiniana and with a trickling pearl necklace around her neck, gamely posed for photos.

Mt. Apo is located in Mindanao and borders Davao and North Cotabato. According to TrailAdventours, Mt. Apo has a difficulty level of 7/10 and takes about three days to complete.

So you really have to hand it to Lola Letecia. — LA, GMA Integrated News
