MANILA, Philippines — Unauthorized fare hikes have been rolled back by eight bus operators at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange.

Erring bus operators at PITX reportedly increased rates by P50 to P200 despite President Marcos’ directive suspending fare hikes.

Adhering to warnings and show-cause orders are bus operators Bicol Isarog,?RU Diaz,?St. Martha,?RMB,?DLTB,?Bicol Magayon,?Superlines and?JVH, according to Jason Salvador, head of PITX corporate communications and government relations.

“Maybe they have felt that commuters are burdened by high fares,” Salvador said.

Acting Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez earlier warned operators that they face suspension or revocation of their franchises if they increase fares without approval.
