MANILA, Philippines — Core profit of conglomerate Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc. (AEV) was steady at P25.5 billion in 2025, with its power business staying as the largest contributor to group earnings.

AEV’s reported net income, meanwhile, stood at P18.3 billion last year, up by one percent from P18.1 billion in 2024, after accounting for P7.2 billion in non-recurring items, largely related to AboitizPower’s partial impairment of the GNPower Mariveles Energy Center.

AboitizPower contributed P10.4 billion in net income to AEV after delivering a strong operating performance in 2025.

The power business’ growth was driven by the fresh contributions from Chromite Gas Holdings Inc. and the addition of new renewable energy facilities, including solar plants in Laoag, Armenia and Calatrava.

Union Bank of the Philippines, for its part, contributed P5 billion in net income during the year, with the bank’s robust revenue supported by higher net interest income and continued growth in its loan portfolio.

The food and beverage segment likewise continued to be a significant contributor to AEV’s earnings in 2025, posting a net income contribution of P7.6 billion.

AEV attributed the segment’s growing contribution to strong volumes and margins from AboitizFoods, particularly across its flour, farms, livestock and trading businesses.

The segment’s performance was also supported by the full-year contribution of Coca-Cola Europacific Aboitiz Philippines Inc. (CCEAP) following its financial close on Feb. 23, 2024.

“Strong volumes and improved margins across AboitizFoods, combined with the expanding market presence of CCEAP, underscore the group’s commitment to strengthening food security and nutrition across Asia while driving value creation for the broader Aboitiz portfolio,” AEV said.
