Alex Eala down seven spots in world rankings

MANILA, Philippines–Alex Eala slid to world No. 47 in the latest Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings released on Monday. From a career-high of No. 40, Eala dropped seven spots following a first-round exit at the Qatar Open, where she lost to Czech teen Tereza Valentova. The 18-year-old Valentova climbed five spots to world No. 43.
