MANILA, Philippines — Alex Eala is listed as a qualifier for the Strasbourg Grand Prix beginning Monday in France.
Eala continues her buildup for the French Open in the WTA 500 tournament, which also features defending champion Elena Rybakina, Madison Keys, Hailey Baptiste, Magda Linette, Leylah Fernandez, Iva Jovic, Maya Joint, Wang Xinyu and Clara Tauson.
Eala bowed out in the Round of 32 of the Italian Open after a 6-4, 6-4 loss to World No. 2 Rybakina.
The Rafa Nadal Academy graduate also teamed up with Baptiste in doubles but lost to Taylor Townsend and Katerina Siniakova.
Before her exit in Rome, the 20-year-old Filipino defeated Wang and Magdalena Frech to reach the third round.
The French Open is scheduled later this month.
