CANDON, Ilocos Sur — Alyssa Solomon made the final Alas Pilipinas roster for the AVC Women’s Nations Cup, which starts Saturday at the Candon City Arena here.
The Final 14 was announced after the preliminary inquiry, with Solomon emerging as a late addition to the squad.
Solomon, who is coming off a runner-up finish with Osaka Marvelous in the Japan SV.League, recently withdrew from the Premier Volleyball League Rookie Draft to focus on her national team duties.
The 6-foot-1 opposite spiker, a member of last year’s AVC Women’s Cup silver medal-winning team, will bring her experience to a revamped Alas squad led by captain Alyssa Valdez.
Valdez, Ces Molina and Jovelyn Gonzaga reunite with the national team for the first time since the 2019 Southeast Asian Games in Manila under interim coach Shaq Delos Santos.

Thea Gagate and Cla Loresco are also holdovers from last year’s squad.
Creamline stars Tots Carlos, Kyle Negrito and Kyla Atienza return to international competition after helping represent the national team in 2022.
Veterans Ara Galang, Royse Tubino and Alyssa Eroa earned their first opportunity to represent the country alongside collegiate standouts Niña Ytang and Tin Ubaldo.
