MANILA, Philippines — Anthony Jennings, Ruby Rodriguez, Princess Punzalan, and Tootsie Guevarra are among the notable names in the cast of "Nurse the Dead," a comedy show revolving about Filipino healthcare workers in the United States.

ABS-CBN is currently producing the project through its streaming platform iWant in Los Angeles but have already released first look images before a planned wrap this month.

The show helmed by Mark Labella — who also serves as writer and director — marks iWant's first bilingual English-Filipino series produced on American soil. Joining Labella in the director's chair are Wesley Villarica and Drea Castro.

"Nurse the Dead" follows Filipino-American actress and entrepreneur Jelynn Malone as Noa Reyes, a Filipina nurse supervisor with a "third eye" that allows her to see the supernatural.

Such an ability makes Reyes the in-between person in a hospital full of ghosts, even as she balances burnt out co-workers and family issues.

Jennings plays Grim, Rodriguez portrays Ros, Punzalan takes on the role of Camille, and Guevarra's character is Zeny.

Gigette Reyes, who recently starred in "Freakier Friday," plays Mami Tess while American actress Johari Johnson plays Jane. Completing the cast are Sydney Bollenbeck, Kyle Rezzarday, and Natalie Orsi.

"Filipino nurses make up about 4% of the U.S. nursing workforce, yet were disproportionately represented among COVID-era nurse deaths — and that reality stayed with me," said Labella in a statement. "We're using the supernatural and workplace chaos to explore grief, resilience, and legacy with bite, humor, and heart."
