MANILA, Philippines — Some of the country’s biggest corporations capped 2025 with awards for their subsidiaries, campaigns and other initiatives.
Ayala Land Inc. received recognition for its property management arm, Ayala Property Management Corp. (APMC), which emerged as a top winner at the Department of Energy’s (DOE)’s Energy Efficiency Excellence Awards 2025, clinching several distinctions for its outstanding energy management initiatives across various properties.
The annual EEE Awards “recognize companies, projects and institutions that champion best practices in energy efficiency,” APMC said in a statement.
APMC earned accolades for energy management awards in new and existing buildings such as Alveo Financial Tower,
Bonifacio High Street East, Serendra, BPI Intramuros, Capital House and
Ayala North Exchange. It also earned special award for energy efficiency and best practices and measures for Abreeza Residences Condo Corp.
Energy Secretary Sharon Garin lauded the Ayala Group for securing the highest number of awards this year.
A highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of the Don Emilio Abello Award for Energy Efficiency Excellence to Ayala Corp. chairman and CEO Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala, accepted on his behalf by APMC president Tony Martin.
“Ayala has long been recognized for its commitment to sustainability, particularly in the area of energy efficiency. To be part of these efforts at the operational level is a source of deep pride for us at APMC. We see their impact not only within the communities we manage, but also in the broader environment we serve,” Martin said.
Enrique Razon’s International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) likewise announced recently that its business unit in Pernambuco, Brazil, Tecon Suape S.A. (TSSA) was awarded in the South American country.
Tecon Suape was once again recognized as one of Brazil’s leading environmentally responsible port facilities after receiving the 2025 Ocean Friend seal.
The award underscores the company’s commitment to sustainability and ocean protection, ICTSI said in a statement.
The award honors marine terminals that demonstrate excellence in environmental compliance and consistently adopt best-in-class sustainable practices across port operations.
It was presented at Suape Conecta, an event organized by the Suape Port Industrial Complex.
“By recognizing our partners, Suape reaffirms its vision that economic development and environmental protection go hand in hand,” said José Constantino, Suape Port Industrial Complex director of port development and management.
“Tecon Suape stood out for its proactive environmental management, aligning its operations with global sustainability frameworks, including the United Nations Decade of the Ocean and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, particularly Sustainable Development Goal 14: Life Below Water,” ICTSI said.
ICTSI said the award reinforces the port operator’s “longstanding strategy of integrating environmental stewardship into every stage of terminal development and daily operations.”
Five other terminals were also recognized in the ceremony held recently: Pandenor Import and Export, Decal Brasil, Petrobras Transporte S.A.– Suape Waterway Terminal, Ultracargo Logistica, and Temape – Terminais Marítimos de Pernambuco.
Tecon Suape is in charge of the operations of the Suape Container Terminal in Pernambuco, Brazil, under a 30-year concession, which ICTSI won in April 2001.
It is one of ICTSI’s terminals and projects located in developed and emerging market economies in the Asia-Pacific, the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The Jollibee Group’s Mang Inasal, meanwhile, garnered 57 recognitions from local and international award-giving bodies throughout the year.
Among these are citations from the International Business Awards, Campaign Asia-Pacific, Marketing Excellence Awards, ASEAN PR Excellence Awards, and Asia Pacific Stevie Awards.
From local award-giving bodies such as the Anvil Awards from the Public Relations Society of the Philippines and the Philippine Quill from the International Association of Business Communicators, Mang Inasal bagged its very first Asia-Pacific Tambuli Awards for the Love the Flavors, Love the Philippines campaign.
“We are deeply grateful for the continued support of our customers and various partners who have validated Mang Inasal’s Ihaw-SARAP and Unli-SAYA brand positioning,” Mang Inasal president Mike Castro said.
