MANILA, Philippines — The Bank Marketing Association of the Philippines (BMAP) has vowed to further strengthen the professional standards across the banking sector.
Newly-elected BMAP president Catherine Santamaria said the group would continue strengthening collaboration and elevating professional standards across the industry.
“We look forward to working closely with our members to advance excellence and foster meaningful industry dialogue in the year ahead,” said Santamaria, senior vice president at the Bank of the Philippine Islands.
BMAP, composed of senior marketing and corporate affairs leaders from major banking institutions, has committed to elevate standards and strengthen the strategic impact of marketing across the Philippine banking and financial services sector.
Aside from Santamaria, also elected as BMAP officers are Aileen Marie Vallesteros of China Banking Corp. as vice president, Judith Songlingco of Philippine Business Bank as secretary, Jean Valen Yu of Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. as treasurer and Edelyn Castro of Maybank Philippines Inc. as auditor.
Completing the board of trustees are Mai Gacilo Sangalang of Standard Chartered Bank as director for industry relations and banking code and financial inclusion; Catherine Rowena Villanueva of Land Bank of the Philippines as director for programs; Eric Montelibano of Citystate Savings Bank as director for membership; Jennifer Ng of Philippine National Bank as director for ways and means; Angeline Marie Angeles of GoTyme Bank as director for publicity and digital marketing; and Maria Luz Javier of Avanza Inc. as election chair.
BMAP was established on Feb. 27, 1974 to professionalize bank marketing by fully developing, supporting and implementing educational programs geared toward the advancement of the professional skills and abilities of those engaged in banking services
The organization develops, supports and implements training programs to promote the marketing concept among bank personnel at all levels.
BMAP has become a potent force that influences guidelines and actions on pertinent industry matters and continues to effectively serve as the voice on issues and events affecting bank marketing.
