MANILA, Philippines — Classes in eight public schools in San Fernando, Pampanga were disrupted yesterday by a series of bomb threats.
The threats against the Potrero National High School and the Bacolor, Balas, Duat, Potrero, Parulog, San Antonio and Sta. Barbara elementary schools were posted online on Thursday, probers said.
Bomb experts and K-9 teams inspected the schools, but found no explosives.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) ordered the Central Luzon police and the Anti-Cybercrime Group to investigate the threats and identify suspects.
PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said all leads would be looked into including the digital trail of potential persons of interest.
Nartatez ordered police units to step up cyber patrol operations to detect similar threats targeting schools.
“While no explosive devices were found, incidents like these disrupt education and create fear in communities,” he said.
