MANILA, Philippines —  Sen. Bong Go visited families displaced by a fire in Lower Dampa in Barangay Magtuod, Davao City on Saturday, and distributed relief items and cash aid to 89 families.

Go checked on the condition of affected families and distributed grocery packs, vitamins, water containers, shirts, pens, balls and foldable fans, aside from the financial assistance to help them cope with their loss.

The senator emphasized the importance of reaching out to communities affected by disasters and ensuring that immediate support is provided to those who have lost their homes and belongings.

He encouraged the affected families to remain hopeful despite their loss.

Go said he is continuously pushing for the passage of comprehensive disaster preparedness and response measures.

He is the principal author of Republic Act 12076, or the Ligtas Pinoy Centers Act, which mandates the establishment of permanent, disaster-resilient and fully equipped evacuation centers in every city and municipality nationwide.
