BSP flags scam using Monetary Board member’s name

MANILA, Philippines — The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) cautioned the public against scammers falsely using the name of Monetary Board member Benjamin Diokno to solicit donations for fake charitable causes. The central bank said scammers have been sending electronic messages claiming to represent the BSP or its officials, asking recipients to donate to supposed charities.
