MANILA, Philippines — BYD Group’s premium new energy vehicle brand Denza, which is set to launch in the Philippines next month, is planning to roll out at least three vehicle models this year.
“On Feb. 27, we will have our grand launch and dealer launch here in Manila,”BYD Asia-Pacific auto sales division general manager Liu Xueliang said at the brand’s ceremonial dealer awarding yesterday.
He said Denza plans to introduce at least three vehicle models in the country this year.
Denza vehicle models to be unveiled this year are the B8 and B5 sports utility vehicles and the D9 multi-purpose vehicle.
Liu said Denza decided to enter the Philippine market following the successful launch of BYD in the country.
BYD vehicles are exclusively distributed in the country by Ayala Group’s mobility solutions arm ACMobility.
“With the deep collaboration of ACMobility, we successfully have introduced BYD into the Philippine market and got reception from the public,” BYD Singapore, Philippines and Brunei managing director James Ng said.
“So this is our first success together with our partners out here. So with that, this gives us a very strong motivation to introduce Denza,” he said further.
Liu said Denza, which is already a well-established brand in China, has been expanding into other markets since last year.
He said Denza is also set to launch in Australia and New Zealand next month.
To reinforce its commitment and lay the foundation for its presence in the Philippine market, Denza named its initial dealer partners. These are ACMobility Premium Dealership Inc. for Denza Alabang and Denza Cebu; Harmony New Energy Auto Service (Philippines) Ltd. Corp. for Denza Makati and E-Vantage Motors Inc. for Denza Greenhills.
BYD and Denza Philippines country head Adam Hu said Denza aims to establish itself as a premium brand that Filipino customers can trust and grow with.
“The Philippine market is advancing rapidly and is ready for a new expression of premium. Our responsibility as brand leaders is to introduce Denza in a way that reflects local expectations while staying true to its global standards,” he said.
