IN a historic move that cemented Camarines Sur (CamSur) as a hub for technological innovation and sustainable development, the province officially partnered with Veragon Technologies to establish the country's first atmospheric water generator (AWG) manufacturing facility. This multimillion-peso investment was set to revolutionize water access, attract further local and international investors, and create thousands of new jobs, solidifying CamSur's reputation as a prime destination for technology-driven industries.

The groundbreaking ceremony, marked by the lowering of a time capsule, was attended by Veragon Technologies CEO Alessio Lucattelli, Rep. LRay Villafuerte, Gov. Luigi Villafuerte, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian, and Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Maria Cristina Aldeguer-Roque, highlighting the national significance of this initiative. The event also featured a ceremonial water tasting, where officials and guests sampled the clean mineralized drinking water, produced directly from the AWGs. This moment symbolized the transformative impact of the technology, demonstrating how Veragon's cutting-edge innovation could provide a sustainable and reliable source of potable water.

Veragon Technologies, a global leader in sustainable water solutions, specialized in cutting-edge AWG technology, which extracted pure mineralized drinking water from the air. This innovation, already utilized by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, the United Nations and military forces worldwide, would now be manufactured in CamaSur, making the province a key player in the global clean water industry.

Beyond its environmental impact, this initiative was a powerful economic driver, expected to generate thousands of skilled jobs in manufacturing, engineering, logistics and maintenance. It was also set to attract local and foreign investors into the growing green technology sector and position Camarines Sur as a center for high-tech, sustainable industries. More importantly, it strengthened the Philippines' standing in global innovation and clean technology.

The facility was projected to significantly boost employment opportunities, benefiting a wide range of professionals from skilled laborers and engineers to administrative staff and supply chain workers. The influx of new jobs was expected to stimulate local businesses, enhance economic activity and provide long-term career growth for many Filipinos. The manufacturing hub would not only serve as a catalyst for technological progress but also as a lifeline for communities in need of stable employment.
