MANILA, Philippines —   The country’s largest carrier is boosting domestic and international flights at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) to make up for lost capacity to be left behind by exiting turboprops.

Cebu Pacific will be operating more flights to nine local destinations and two foreign cities from NAIA by the time its last batch of turboprops leaves the gateway in March.

In particular, Cebu Pacific will be increasing its weekly flights from Manila to Bacolod, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Dumaguete, Ozamiz, Tacloban and Zamboanga.

This will be paired with more weekly services from Manila to Hong Kong and Kaohsiung. Cebu Pacific is raising flight capacity to keep up with the travel demand, especially as it aims to grow passenger traffic at around the same rate as last year at 10 percent.

Cebu Pacific is withdrawing all of its turboprops from NAIA by March 29. This is in compliance with the regulatory order to remove turboprops from the gateway, a policy that has been moved twice to give carriers more time.

By March 29, Cebu Pacific will be moving remaining flights operated by regional unit Cebgo to the Clark International Airport to complete its turboprop reassignment.

The carrier owned by the Gokongweis will be transferring flights to Coron and Naga to Clark, as well as the El Nido trips arranged by AirSWIFT, which Cebu Pacific acquired in 2024.

Cebu Pacific said passengers whose flights are affected by the relocation would be automatically moved to Clark, unless they prefer to book a different arrangement.

To compensate affected guests, Cebu Pacific is providing free rebooking without fare difference for travel up to 30 days from the original flight. The airline will only charge the fare difference if travel is beyond 30 days from the original schedule.

Passengers may also store the amount in their Cebu Pacific account and use it to book a new trip or pay for ancillary services like baggage allowance and seat selection. They may ask Cebu Pacific for a full refund of their booking.
