MANILA, Philippines — The Po family’s Century Pacific Food Inc. (CNPF) is aiming to end the year on a strong note and sustain its growth momentum into next year, with preparations  underway to mitigate the effects of  El Niño  and ensure supply continuity.

“While much uncertainty remains, we aspire to close the year with our double-digit growth trajectory intact for our top line, with core bottomline growth trailing,” CNPF chief financial officer Chad Manapat said.

Manapat said this year has been an uphill climb, marked by geopolitical uncertainties, inflationary pressures, subdued consumer sentiment and natural calamities.

He said the company’s diverse portfolio and healthy balance sheet have kept CNPF resilient, allowing it to maneuver through headwinds while continuing to invest in long-term growth.

“As 2027 approaches, we plan to build on this year’s progress. With additional capacity coming online and continued investments in our brands and operations, we remain cautiously optimistic about our growth prospects,” Manapat said.

“Ultimately, we aim to sustain this momentum, all in service of our mission to deliver affordable nutrition to Filipino families,” he said.

CNPF, one of the country’s leading food companies, said it posted a 10-percent increase in core net income during the first nine months.

Net income, however, declined by 11 percent to P5.2 billion due to earthquake-related losses.

The company recognized non-recurring earthquake-related losses of P1.2 billion during the nine-month period.

Revenues, meanwhile, expanded by 14 percent year-on-year to P70.5 billion despite persistent headwinds.

CNPF said its branded segment, which caters predominantly to the domestic market, delivered volume-led growth of 12 percent, supported by the company’s portfolio of affordable, value-for-money pantry essentials.

Meanwhile, its original equipment manufacturer exports business maintained its recovery, with export sales rising 21 percent.

CNPF, which has a roster of household names including Century Tuna, Argentina, 555, Ligo and Birch Tree, has allocated P8 billion in capital expenditures for 2026, of which P5 billion was deployed as of end September.
