THE Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Seoul-based Kyong-Ho Engineering and Architects, a leading South Korean firm in construction engineering, planning, design, and project management.

The MOU supports CIAC's seven flagship projects, particularly the Dolores River Park and Clark Aviation Park — key parts of the Urban Renewal and Heritage Conservation Program.

These initiatives aim to address Pampanga's looming water crisis by integrating sustainable water management, restoring ecosystems, and promoting climate resilience through inclusive urban design.

"This partnership with Kyong-Ho is a major step in our Urban Renewal Program," said CIAC President and CEO Jojit Alcazar. "The Dolores River Park reflects our commitment to sustainable urban development that supports regional and national growth."

The plan features nature-focused public spaces along the Dolores River, creating recreational and tourism hubs inspired by international models like Singapore's Clarke Quay. Key elements include water catchment systems, green landscapes, biodiversity zones, and sustainable mobility.

Spanning 3.9 km along Clark's Creekside Road near the Sacobia River, the park will enhance ecological and recreational value while conserving water resources. The Clark Aviation Park will feature rainwater harvesting systems and serve as a sustainable community center.

The MOU includes joint R&D, tech transfer, training, and capacity-building aligned with Kyong-Ho's expertise in climate-responsive urban planning.
