AUTHORITIES reported on Thursday the arrest of 237 suspects, including eight Chinese, and the confiscation of P53.9 million worth of evidence in five days of anti-criminality operations.

MGen. Nick Torre III, director of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), said the apprehension included 13 wanted persons in regional level, 32 provincial-level fugitives, and a member of a Cebu-based criminal syndicate.

The CIDG agents also recovered 28 various loose firearms and ammunition, and illegal items including smuggled cigarettes, unregistered beauty products, animal feeds, and other pieces of evidence amounting to P53.9 million.

Torre commended the CIDG personnel for the achievement.

"I commend the men and women of CIDG — the premier investigative arm of the Philippine National Police for these very significant numbers of accomplishments," said Torre.
