The Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival is now accepting entries for the full-length category of its 2026 edition, with a deadline set on or before 6 p.m. on June 6.

Filmmakers who wish to join must submit their entries online through the link: https://forms.gle/XFAaxKrwY34VDLjz8. Required materials include:

  • A concept paper (no names included)
  • A 2-page synopsis or storyline
  • Resume and two recent photos of the filmmaker(s)
  • A sample of the filmmaker's previous work

Filmmakers should also note that full scripts will not be accepted, and each applicant may submit up to three entries, but only one can be considered a finalist.

Projects already in production or post-production before July 2025 are not eligible, except for documentaries.

Meanwhile, entries connected to film or TV productions and local streaming platforms may still qualify if they are not commissioned works.

On July 11, Cinemalaya will announce 30 selected submissions whose proponents will attend a pitching session on July 26.

From there, 20 will be chosen to join the Cinemalaya Film Lab, a mentorship program covering all filmmaking areas, from August to November 2025.

After completing the lab, 10 finalists will be selected to compete in the 2026 Cinemalaya main competition, and the films will be screened during the festival, which will run from August 7 to 16, 2026. —Hermes Joy Tunac/JCB, GMA Integrated News
