Amid the very public mess between Rachel Gupta the Miss Grand International organization, Filipina beauty queen Christine Juliane “CJ” Opiaza is set to make history.

According to a social media post of the beauty organization, CJ will have a crowning ceremony on June 3 at 2 p.m. Bangkok time (3 p.m. Philippine time) at the MGI Hall (Bravo BKK) and livestreamed on the GrandTV YouTube channel.

CJ is not only set to become the new Miss Grand International 2024, she is going to make history as the first Filipino Miss Grand International.

Her crowning comes after a flurry of back-to-back events that had India's Rachel Gupta resigning and giving up the crown and the MGI organization releasing an official statement that said they were terminating the beauty queen.

Late Wednesday, MGI Founder Nawat Itsaragrisil teased that the "real queen [is] coming soon," uploading a video of the Philippines' CJ, who is Rachel's first runner-up.

On her social media channels, CJ posted snaps of herself in a red Francis Libiran gown that evoked a phoenix and in the caption said, "rising from the golden ashes is a phoenix who is ready for a comeback to conquer the grandest heights."

"I am Christine Juliane Opiaza, Miss Grand International 2024 from the Philippines," she added.
