MANILA, Philippines — Family squabbles were set aside for the united care of Barretto family matriarch Estrella "Inday" Barretto, who passed away last January 29. She was 89 years old.

Two of Inday's children Jose Joaquin or "JJ" and Claudine confirmed the passing of their mother, who was in and out of the hospital during her final months.

Condoling messages quickly flowed into JJ and Claudine's post, with the latter posting in the early hours of January a brief expression for her siblings.

"Magulo man po kami but in Grief we are all United. we all did our part," said the actress, noting that she, JJ, siblings Michelle or "Michie," Geraldine or "Gia," Gretchen or "G," Marjorie, and Inday's great-grandchildren all took turns looking after the matriarch.

The eldest of the siblings Miguel Antonio or "Mito" died last September. He was named after patriarch and Inday's husband Miguel, who passed away in 2019.

"We choose Peace over everything. We don't need flowers.Your Prayers all mean the world to each & everyone of us. Maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat," Claudine continued her message.

The actress bade her mother farewell with assurance she and her siblings would be fine as they were "Inday Barretto's children," ending by calling Inday "the strongest most loving Mother anyone could ask for."
