MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections will not enforce a four-day workweek, Comelec Chairman George Garcia announced yesterday.

With three elections this year, the poll body cannot implement the compressed work schedule, according to Garcia.

Special elections will be held on March 14 in Antipolo City’s second district.

The Bangsamoro parliamentary elections are expected in September. The barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections are set for Nov. 2.

Meanwhile, the House of Representatives approved yesterday on third and final reading a bill resetting the Bangsamoro elections in September.

The Comelec’s special register anywhere/anytime program at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum in Manila for the barangay and SK elections will end today at 5 p.m.

The Commission on Higher Education also implemented yesterday the new work schedule.
