COTABATO CITY — Plainclothes police officers seized P13.6 million worth of shabu from a male dealer during an entrapment operation in Barangay Gusa, Cagayan de Oro City, early Saturday, December 13.
Local executives and officials of Police Regional Office 10 told reporters on Sunday, December 14, that the suspect was arrested by joint operatives from the Cagayan de Oro Police Office’s City Drug Enforcement Unit, led by Major Aldren Estrada Baculio, and other PRO 10 anti-narcotics units after selling two kilos of shabu worth P13.6 million during a trade-off in Purok 4, Barangay Gusa.
Senior officials of Police Regional Office 10 and members of the Cagayan de Oro City Peace and Order Council said the operation that led to the arrest of the 41-year-old suspect and the seizure of P13.6 million worth of shabu was based on reports from confidential informants about his large-scale drug peddling in Barangay Gusa and nearby areas.
The suspect is now detained at a PRO 10 facility and is facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, after selling two kilos of shabu to police officers posing as civilian drug users.
