THE Regional Trial Court has officially granted the Declaration of Nullity of Marriage to Charyze Pagotan Ng — more popularly known by her stage name, Chariz Solomon — on January 6, 2025.

The court ruled that the marriage was void from the start under Article 36 of the Family Code due to the respondent's psychological incapacity, which rendered the respondent unable to fulfill essential marital obligations.

Chariz Solomon is a well-known actress, model, comedienne and singer in the Philippines. She gained widespread recognition as a mainstay of the country's longest-running gag show, Bubble Gang, where her comedic prowess and versatility have made her a standout performer since 2010.

Beyond her work in comedy, Solomon has also showcased her talent in various television dramas and films, solidifying her status as a prominent figure in the Philippine entertainment industry.

Solomon said she was represented in the annulment case by lawyer John Paul Nabua and his legal team, who took over the case in 2021 from another law office.

Attorney Nabua is the principal lawyer at Nabua Law, a firm that specialized in private and corporate matters, family law and succession, data privacy, information technology and the fintech industry, legislative consultancy and foreign-client representation. The firm's expertise and dedication were instrumental in securing the favorable court ruling.

The court's decision came after a meticulous review of evidence, including expert testimonies and supporting documentation, which confirmed the respondent's persistent psychological incapacity, making the marital union unsustainable under Philippine law.

Solomon expressed her gratitude to the courts for their fair judgment and to her lawyers for their unwavering support throughout the legal process.

With this ruling, all legal ties between Chariz Solomon and the respondent were considered nullified, restoring Solomon's civil status to that of a single person.
