Eries John Genovatin, 24, was on a bicycle along Villareal street in Barangay Gulod when the shootout occurred.

Police were manning a checkpoint at the corner of Quirino Highway and Nitang street when they heard gunshots.

Two gunmen on a motorcycle had shot dead Jonari Dangalan, a 29-year-old delivery rider.
