DepEd flags fake social media post announcing wrong 1st day of class

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Education (DepEd) on Saturday disputed a circulating claim that the first day of classes for public schools on June 8, Monday, will be suspended.  In an advisory, the DepEd labeled as “fake” a post that says: “Breaking news: The first day of classes on June 8, 2026 is cancelled.
