MANILA, Philippines — While it is open to a dialogue, the government is not backing down from pursuing members of the True Brown Style group, according to Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla who said authorities have identified some TBS members.
Remulla, who has administrative control and supervision over the Philippine National Police (PNP), said they are willing to talk with members of the community-based group.
“But a dialogue must come with a commitment to stop their criminal activities,” Remulla told reporters.
He said police have an initial list of TBS members, but they are still compiling the names from other areas.
Remulla vowed to name them at the proper time.
He made the statement after two members of the group, known only as Lady Og and Adviser, expressed concern over their safety amid the crackdown on TBS.
Metro Manila police officer-in-charge Brig. Gen. Christopher Abarahano ordered the five police district commanders to investigate the reported recruitment and grooming of minors into criminal activities by the TBS.
