MANILA, Philippines — The Walt Disney Company is debuting its official fan club expo in Southeast Asia next year as D23 makes its way to Singapore.
D23 is Disney's official fan club responsible for hosting the biennial "D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event." It takes its name from Disney and the year it was created by Walt Disney founded in 2009.
The event previously visited Japan for its first international edition when it went as D23 Expo, but a rebranding in 2024 meant it was the first time "D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event" took place in Asia.
Disney had taken the event to Brazil back in 2024, but the upcoming Asia edition in Singapore will be reimagined specifically for the Asia-Pacific market. It is seen as combining the global scale of the Anaheim and Brazil events with unique, fan-first experiences, and curated merchandise.
The immersive multi-day event will give fans exclusive access to Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars storytelling. Attendees can expect live stage presentations, appearances by Disney stars, and first-look previews of new Asia-Pacific Originals coming to Disney+.
Asad Ayaz, The Walt Disney Company's chief marketing and brand officer, said in a statement that bringing D23 to Singapore "reflects the incredible passion of Disney fans across Asia Pacific and our desire to meet them where they are."

"D23 Asia will bring these fans together as a community to celebrate the powerful connection they have with our stories, characters, and experiences, and to get an exciting look at what lies ahead," Ayaz added.
The Walt Disney Company Asia Pacific's executive vice president for integretated marketing and APAC Original Strategy Carol Choi similarly noted the extraordinary and growing fan base of Disney across the Asia-Pacific region.
"Bringing D23 to Singapore marks a natural evolution in our journey to bringing unforgettable fan experiences to audiences across this diverse region in new and meaningful ways," Choi said.
Key to these milestone staging is the Singapore Tourism Board, whose partnership with the House of Mouse has grown firmer following the launch of the Disney Adventure cruise ship.
"Together with Disney, we will be creating memorable experiences that resonate with fans across the region and beyond," said Jean Ng, the board's Experience Development Group assistant chief executive.
