MANILA, Philippines — A fisherman was rescued by members of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) who spotted him floating in the waters off Mariveles, Bataan on Thursday.
The fisherman was waving when PCG men on board BRP Cape San Agustin saw him near Hornos Point.
The PCG deployed an inflatable boat to rescue the 35-year-old fisherman, who is a resident of Barangay Biyaan in Mariveles.
The fisherman suffered burns in the thigh after he accidentally touched the exhaust pipe of his boat’s engine. He was given medical attention on board the San Agustin.
The PCG men brought the fishermen to the Mariveles Harbor where he was given additional assistance.
