DOH recommends awareness, not travel restrictions, amid Nipah cases

MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ) under the Department of Health (DOH) has recommended heightened awareness instead of restricting travelers in response to the Nipah virus. In a statement on Wednesday, the DOH said there is no international recommendation to tighten border movements amid recent Nipah virus cases reported in West Bengal, India.
