MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health yesterday warned the public against unscrupulous people posing as DOH Secretary Edwin Mercado to ask for donations.
The DOH advised the people to ignore messages or calls supposedly coming from Mercado.
“The public is advised not to give money or engage in any transaction with suspicious accounts, numbers or messages,” the DOH said.
If unsure if the cell phone number or message is legitimate, the department said the public should coordinate with the Office of the Secretary at [email protected] or any official representative of the DOH.
The DOH urged the public to follow only its official social media accounts: www.doh.gov.ph (website), @doh.philippines (Instagram) and DOHgovph (X).
