Fresh from the premiere of her first American TV series, "Nine Perfect Strangers" Season 2, Dolly de Leon is making waves again as part of the new cast of "Avatar: The Last Airbender."

Dolly is set to play twins Lo and Li, fire-bending mentors to Azula, princess of the Fire Nation.

Reacting to the cast announcement, the Golden Globe nominee said she's "extremely excited and honored" to be part of the live-action version of the animated classic.

"It's my first time to play twins, which is the best fun in a creative process," Dolly said in a press release. "It's a dream come true."

Aside from Dolly, Filipino-American Jonjon Briones is also joining the cast as swordmaster and White Lotus warrior.

Filipino-Canadian actor Gordon Cormier also leads the series as Aang, the titular "Last Airbender."

In February 2024, Gordon and Dallas Liu (Prince Zuko) visited the Philippines for a fan meet.

During their visit, Dallas joked and said the Philippine weather is reminiscent of "the fire nation."

Netflix's "Avatar: The Last Airbender" premiered its first season last February 2024 and was renewed for Seasons 2 and 3 in March 2024. — Hermes Joy Tunac/LA, GMA Integrated News
