Former "Dream Maker" contestant Matt Cruz is lovestruck in his new pop R&B single "Down Bad."

"It's about people who are so in love that they're willing to do anything to get noticed and capture the attention of the person they like," he said.

Cruz is thankful for his new beginning as a solo artist under ABS-CBN Music's Old School Records label.

"I'm extremely grateful and blessed for everything that's happening in my career right now, and I wouldn't be able to do any of this without the people who believe in me," he shared.

"Down Bad" was composed and produced by Kiko Salazar.

Cruz started his career through appearing in various reality-survival shows including ABS-CBN's "Dream Maker" where he became one of the finalists. He released his first single "Missin'" in 2022. His musical influences include Gary Valenciano and Chris Brown.
