CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines — Police are tracking down the driver of the widow of a former barangay chairman, whose remains were found buried in a family-owned property in Angeles, Pampanga on Monday.
Probers said that the driver, identified as Manuel Tolentino, has been tagged as a person of interest in the murder of Teresa Mamac.
They said Tolentino has not been seen since the vehicle of Mamac was found abandoned near the Magalang Plaza on Feb. 14.
Mamac, whose late husband was a former chairman of Barangay Balibago, was last seen alive in Angeles City on Feb. 12. Relatives reported her missing the following day.
Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Penones Jr., Central Luzon police director, said Tolentino has been working for the family for 20 years.
Police said they have yet to receive the result of an autopsy conducted of the remains of the victim.
