COTABATO CITY, Philippines — A drug suspect was killed in an alleged shootout that occurred during a sting in Malabang, Lanao del Sur on Sunday.
Reports said Alvin Tina drew his gun and shot police officers to whom he allegedly tried to sell shabu with an estimated street value of P2.4 million in Barangay Matling.
The officers retaliated, killing Tina at the scene.
The suspects’ companions identified as Analia Adam and Abdul Marohom were arrested after the shootout.
Probers said Tina had links to terrorist group Dawlah Islamiya, with whom he reportedly shared his drug earnings.
