CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — A suspected drug trafficker was killed in an alleged shootout that occurred during an anti-narcotics operation in Bacoor, Cavite on Thursday night.

Reports said the fatality, identified only as Boss, 41, was arrested in Barangay San Nicolas 3 at around 8:55 p.m.

Police said they were escorting the suspect toward a mobile car when he allegedly grabbed the firearm of Cpl. Fernan Medino.

The suspect allegedly shot Medino, but failed to hit the officer.

Medino’s colleague, Cpl. Jofeth Yap fired back, killing the suspect instantly. Investigation is ongoing.
