BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya — A 65-year-old man died after he was hit on the head with a stainless jug by his stepson on March 25 following their heated confrontation inside their house in Baret-bet, Bagabag town, in this province.
Based on police reports, the victim confronted the suspect who arrived at home at 6 a.m. on March 25 from a drinking spree that started Monday night.
Bagabag police chief Maj. Oscar Abrogena said the victim and the 46-year-old stepson (whose names were not revealed due to the Data Privacy Act) engaged in a fistfight when the latter arrived home drunk.
The neighbors even sought help from village officials to pacify them.
As the victim fell, the suspect grabbed a stainless jug and smashed it on his stepfa-ther's head.

Due to profuse bleeding on his head, he was brought to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival. The police later arrested the suspect.
A homicide case has been filed against the stepson who was allegedly having sleepless nights due to personal problems.
