MANILA, Philippines — Logistics giant Federal Express Corp. (FedEx) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) have teamed up to help textile micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) expand in international markets through exports.

In a statement yesterday, FedEx said the partnership covers the conduct of a masterclass to equip textile MSMEs with knowledge and tools to expand their global footprint.

Conducted on Dec. 3, the masterclass was attended by 33 MSMEs.

Leveraging on the global logistics expertise of FedEx, the sessions covered import and export fundamentals, including creating air waybills, documentary requirements, proper packing of textile shipments and shipment tracking.

The partnership comes at a crucial time as the government aims to grow exports and make it easier for MSMEs to cater to global markets.

“Our collaboration with DTI amplifies our ability to support Filipino businesses,” FedEx Philippines managing director Maribeth Espinosa said.

“By sharing our logistics expertise and global network, we make international trade simpler and more accessible,” she said further.

Beyond delivering shipments, she said the initiative opens doors for even the smallest businesses to grow beyond borders.

“We are committed to turning the promise of global trade into meaningful progress for Filipino MSMEs across the country,” she said.

Over the years, FedEx and DTI have been working together to enable Filipino businesses to seize global trade opportunities.
