Hi, this will be my first interaction here, previously a reader and now just recently made an acc.

I wanna ask for your thoughts about this so called "Remittance Strike" from the OFWs that will start on Mar 28, Digong's bday.

It seems a lot of DDS don't know the simple technicalities of Remittances. They think that OFWs contribute directly to the government- which was already explained for years. I had a brief skimming through the internet about jut to verify this. But yeah OFWs otherwise contribute to the micro-economy, sending remittances to their families to help their living, produce processional family members, put up business, etc. - all of these eventually contribute to the overall economy.

Heres a simple diagram:

OFWs ------Remittance------> Filipino Families ----->Gov't

So the obvious nonsense here is their initiative to compromise their families of their financial support, just to prove a damn point- which is to express their support to their Tatay.

I posted some on fb and I received comments like "they sure have another way of sending money and not in a form of remittance" like damnnn do you even take at least 5 minutes to verify what you are saying?

All of this comes from fanaticism and it's true that it really overtakes someone's reasoning.

Ps. Now I'm not so sure if I had the right definition of remittances coz idk if it was me or them who missed something. Feel free to share what u know
